Corrections

When we get it wrong, we fix it and say so.

Accuracy is the whole point of this site. If you spot an error in a summary, please tell us.

Email [email protected] with the page link and what you believe is wrong.

How to request a correction

Email [email protected] with the subject “Correction request.” Include the page URL, the sentence in question, and — if you can — a source that supports the correction. We aim to review every request within five business days.

What we correct

  • Factual errors — wrong numbers, names, dates, study details, or misdescribed findings.
  • Misleading framing — wording that overstates what a study showed, such as causal language for an observational study.
  • Missing context — an important limitation we left out.

How corrections appear

We fix the error in the article and add a dated note at the end describing what changed. We don’t quietly rewrite substantive content. Minor fixes to spelling or formatting are made without a note. If a correction appears in a summary that went out in the digest, we mention it in the next issue.

Updates vs. corrections

Research changes. When later studies add context to an article that was accurate when published, we add a dated “Update” note rather than a correction.
